Conceptual Framework of Technologization of Industrial Production

Author:

Aleksandr Ye. Miller and Maksim A. Miller

Abstract:

Modern production is getting increasingly technology- and capital-intensive, requiring highly skilled labour and, hence, cannot create jobs for a substantial number of low skilled workers. In addition, one high-tech job generates several additional jobs in other industries. Many technologies used initially in industrial production are then widely implemented by other industries, enhancing their efficiency and competitiveness and thus supporting the overall economic growth. Research and development for the in‑ dustry tends to become more transdisciplinary; hybrid research areas as well as technologies developed at intersection of disciplines appear. The paper studies conceptual framework and outlines prospects and limitations for development of technologization of production in Russia’s processing industry.

Keywords: technologization; industrial complex; technological mode; technological transition; innovation.
