Integrated Distribution Centers as a Form of Efficient Sales of Agricultural Products

Abstract:

The author analyzes markets of various agricultural products (vegetables, meat, dairy) through FMCG retailers, reveals the problems that agricultural producers encounter while entering these markets, and compares the volatility of global and Russian markets of agricultural products. The study proves the necessity of establishing a distribution center integrated with a commodity exchange and outlines tasks and functions, which it should fulfill. The author’s definition of integrated distribution center is given. The conclusion is made that the idea of a distribution center integrated with a functioning commodity exchange suggested by the author has a number of obvious advantages and features socioeconomic efficiency.
