Author: Inna A. Kulkova and Mariya I. Plutova

Abstract:

The article investigates the impact of the quality of life on the processes of population reproduction in municipalities of Sverdlovsk oblast. The authors consider the demographic situation in the region by examining birth and death rates, natural increase and decline of population and calculate the relative indicators of population reproduction. They propose to classify the key complex indicators of the quality of life according to the type data used for their calculation. The paper compares the statistical indicators of quality of life of the population living in the center of the oblast (Yekaterinburg) with the population in medium-sized cities (Nizny Tagil) and small towns and/or distant municipalities. Finally, directions for improving demographic policy in the oblast’s municipalities are outlined.
