Theoretical Analysis of Financial Sustainability of Business Entities

Abstract:

Having examined the existing approaches to the economic concepts “financial sustainability” and “solvency of subjects of financial and economic activities” the author’s own interpretation of the concept “financial sustainability” is proposed. The financial sustainability is seen as a synthesized concept, which reflects various characteristics of financial and economic activities of an economic entity, the most important of which include solvency, profitability, liquidity, creditworthiness, etc. In accordance with the position of the author, company financial characteristics and indicators are to be considered collectively allowing for external and internal risks what will enable a more comprehensive and objective assessment of the actual level of financial sustainability.
