Abstract: The article explores the issues of cognitive status of the notion: “network” and “network structure”. Modern approaches to the theories of network and network structure are studied on an interdisciplinary basis. Essential characteristics of the concept “network” are scrutinized. The development prospects of this field of research are considered allowing for the author’s understanding of the concept “network”.
