Abstract: The article scrutinizes methodological approaches to the assessment of commercial banks’ competitiveness. The main shortcomings of existing competitiveness assessment techniques are revealed. The technique for assessing bank’s competitiveness using an integrated indicator is developed. The proposed indicator allows for thorough understanding of a bank’s competitiveness, favours identification of both strong and weak positions of the bank in concrete directions of its activity what is necessary for forming the mechanism to enhance its competitiveness.
