Author:

Yekaterina Yu. Vinogradova and Anna I. Galimova

Abstract:

The paper carries out a content analysis and an econometric evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of various corporate information systems in the market. It analyses the impact of different factors on a successful introduction of information system using the model of multiple regression. The analysis revealed a close relationship between the successfully implemented ERP systems and the share of projects, which did not exceed the budget; the share of projects, which were completed ahead of schedule; the share of shrink-wrapped software solutions. The authors arrive to the conclusion that it is necessary to develop an information system, which satisfies the needs of a particular enterprise, as well as to plan the implementation schedule and budget more accurately. They identify the stages of development and introduction of automated information systems, which, should they be followed, will allow Russian companies to improve the efficiency of their financial-economic activities.

Keywords: enterprise efficiency; enterprise resource planning system; automation of managerial accounting; optimization of an information system; econometric analysis.
