Original Institutionalism and Economic Education (Part I)

Abstract: The article discusses the special features of economic education practiced by representatives of the American original institutionalism in the first half of the XX century. This education was aimed at training professionals able to analyze acute urgent social and economic problems and develop ways to address them through the reform of economic institutions. Teaching activities of institutionalist economists were closely related to their research and reform practices. Training courses of economists of this school changed dynamically, reflecting the dynamics of the existing socio-economic problems and absorbing the results of their analysis and solutions.
