Developing a Bank’s Strategy on the Basis of Its Dynamic Capabilities

Abstract: The paper studies existing approaches to assessing the level of a firm’s dynamic capabilities, suggests the authorial model for grounding the choice of a strategy on the basis of the dynamic capabilities. The method is based on the assumption that the presence of dynamic capabilities allows the company to more successfully than generally the market configure available resources and, consequently, get better results. The study pays meticulous attention to the specifics of the banking sector of the Russian economy, and tests its findings at the example of OAO «Sberbank of Russia». Finally, the toolkit for choosing a bank’s strategy on the basis of the assessed dynamic capabilities was developed.
