Abstract:

The article analyzes the practice of compiling and distributing statistics on public finance by the main groups of international and regional organizations and subjects providing statistical data at the level of a particular state. The author highlights main problems that the Russian Federal State Statistics Service encounters while working with the OECD research for 2013 and outlines development prospects for the Russian statistics of public finance in line with international requirements (coverage, compliance, interpretability/metadata requirements, timeliness, data and metadata transmission) as well as direc‑ tions for their improvement.
