Small Innovative Enterprises in Industry: A Methodological Approach to the Assessment of Development Opportunities

Abstract:

The paper discusses development problems of small innovative enterprises in industry. The authors studied two groups of factors that influence their development: innovative attractiveness of a market and innovative competitiveness of a company. The methodological approach to the assessment of development opportunities for small innovative enterprises in industry is formulated. According to the designed methodology, the analysis results in the matrix “Innovative attractiveness of a market” – “Innovative competitiveness of a company” that enables both evaluating company competitive position in markets and determining a preferable strategy of development allowing for external and internal factors. The matrix of standard strategies may be recommended for managers to make express assessments of innovative opportunities of a company and take urgent managerial actions and decisions.
