Abstract:

The article studies practical aspects of development of monetary integration in CIS countries in case of adoption of common currency basket. The author lists the indicators recommended for the use in calculation of weights of currencies in Eurasian currency basket and develops a formula to calculate specific weights of currencies in Eurasian currency basket. The article concludes that in the present conditions Eurasian currency basket can be used as a new benchmark for monetary policy in CIS countries and highlights the advisability of this.
