Abstract:

The article examines the state and prospects of infrastructure development in Astana within the forming Astana agglomeration. It addresses key aspects of agglomeration development and presents them as a basis for territorial and spatial planning of regional policy. The world experience in urbanization management is discussed in the context of the current disproportions in regional development of Kazakhstan and allowing for the specified positive preconditions for adopting the model of agglomeration development of the capital and adjacent areas the direction of specialization as a transport and logistics hub is suggested. Taking into account this vector of development the paper lists main directions for modernization of engineering, communication and transport infrastructure oriented towards the creation of incentives for territorial concentration of production and labour resources in Astana agglomeration.
