Abstract: The article voices theoretical propositions of infrastructural study of regional economy as the basis for its strategic socio-economic development. The author critically evaluates scientific views and on the basis of their systematization presents a brief conception of infrastructural development of regional economy. The paper justifies a general conception of infrastructural development of regional economy as a foundation of a new methodological approach to scientific studies in the field of regional economy and management.

The possibility of maintaining the prioritized development of a key type of activity in an infrastructural subsystem of regional socio-economic system with the aim of its sustainable development during regulated special-economic transformation is theoretically proved.
